The Reputation Book Tag
Created by Mollie @ Mollie The Reader
To preface this: I was not tagged, I just love Taylor Swift and books so this is perfect for me. This album has played a huge part in my life this past year and it is a masterpiece. Also, the reputation Stadium Tour was epic and I literally cannot eloquently put into words how amazing it was. Happy One Year to reputation!
I have kept my answers “brief” because there were a lot of prompts to get through. I also used TS gifs instead of book covers because that was more fun for me.
Track One …Ready For It: a book you are so ready to read
Lethal White by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling). This is the fourth book in the Cormoran Strike series. It is an adult mystery series which is great and after the ending of book three, I am HYPED for this. *edit* I was able to read this since the writing of this post and it was awesome.
Track Two End Game: a book where your ship became end game
I mean as a kind of throwback America Singer and Maxon Schreave from the Selection Series. I was very invested in this ship back in high school and was ecstatic when it became canon (and end game).
Track Three I Did Something Bad: a character that did something bad, but had no regrets
All the main characters in the Six of Crows duology. My favorite little heisters.
Track Four Don’t Blame Me: a book a lot of people don’t like but you can’t help but secretly love
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, although I’m worried if I reread it I won’t like it as much as I did the first time. Also, the Ruby Red trilogy by Kerstin Gier, I read this pre-bookstagram and really enjoyed it, but I’ve seen a lot of meh reviews for it since.
Track Five Delicate: a character you find to be delicate
A decent amount of my favorite characters start off as delicate and then become harder as the story progresses. But, I would say Emily from Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson is delicate. She grows and changes and becomes confident in herself, but she was a little delicate bean in the beginning.
Track Six Look What You Made Me Do: an author whose books always make you cry/feel deep emotions
Um Hi Sabaa Tahir. I have no idea how I am going to get through book four of the Ember quartet. If anything happens to my faves…
Track Seven So It Goes…: a book series that goes from good to a bad/meh ending
Throwing it back to my middle school days, but any series by Lisi Harrison. I was not impressed by any of her series finales.
Track Eight Gorgeous: a book you bought for the cover
The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo. 100%. I drove to a Target in a different city just to get the exclusive Target edition with the red cover. It’s stunning and I have no regrets.
Track Nine Getaway Car: do you read books in the car/public transportation
I used to read ebooks on the bus when I took the bus and now I listen to audiobooks when I drive.
Track Ten King of My Heart: a fictional character that owns your heart
Thomas Cresswell from the Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco. A feminist, cheeky boy, from the late 1800’s who solves mysteries? What’s not to love.
Track Eleven Dancing With Our Hands Tied: a book that had you tied in from the very beginning
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Within the first 10 pages I was super invested, which was remarkable because that does not happen often anymore.
Track Twelve Dress: a character who has similar sense of fashion as you
I had no idea who to put for this question. Maybe Sadie from Sadie by Courtney Thomas. She wears leggings for most of the book and like same. I am wearing leggings right now so…
Track Thirteen This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things: a shady character you dislike
I’m so bad at remembering characters I don’t like, but I recently finished the audiobook for The Dream Thieves (book two in the Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater) and I really don’t like Kavinsky. I don’t even remember his first name.
Track Fourteen Call It What You Want: if you had to call one fictional character to humanity who would you chose and why?
(I am not entirely sure what this means, but I interpreted it as bringing a character to real life). Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I want a cute boy who makes coffee for me and can handle anxiety. He also just seems like a really genuine guy who would be an awesome friend.
Track Fifteen New Year’s Day: a book you can’t wait to read in the new year
99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne. The Hating Game is one of my favorite books of all time and I am hyped for her sophomore novel. Although, I am trying to go into it with manageable expectations so I am not disappointed.
Bonus Track All Too Well: A book that broke your heart
I don’t read a lot of sad books because I don’t like being sad. But I was ugly crying at the end of Far From the Tree by Robin Benway. I think I was happy with the ending, but boy tears were shed.
(Taylor preformed this masterpiece as the surprise song at my concert stop so it was necessary to include.)
Thanks for reading & I tag anyone who wants to do this tag! (Also, stream reputation)
xoxo, Tree
