BOOK TAG: Taylor Swift’s Lover Book Tag

lover booktag

Thanks so much to the creator of this tag, Mari @ Musings of the Book Girl, for tagging me! I love Taylor so much & have been loving Lover.

Also, fun fact, I was going to post this a few weeks ago, but had technical issues so it wasn’t able to go up until now.

Rules

  • Know somebody who loves Taylor? Tag them! If you don’t know of anybody though, that’s okay too, you should still do the tag!
  • There is a prompt for each song but don’t feel pressured to do them all!
  • Link back to this post so Mari will get a notification that you did it and can come see your answers! Also because crediting creators is nice.
  • Feel free to use any of the graphics or make your own if you want!

Kiss Me in New York by Catherine Rider, we did a review of that one here, in case you want to hear more of our thoughts. But, it was just…not great. The premise was good, but the book sadly wasn’t. I unhauled this book and don’t regret it.

The Boy Who Steals Houses by CG Drews. The whole time I was reading this one my heart just hurt for the characters. See our joint review for this one here.

lover-prompts-2

I’m cheating and picking a TV ship and saying Jake & Amy from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Plus, Jake loves Taylor so I can see them listening to it together because Jake dedicated it to Amy or something. I would say it would play at their wedding, but they are already married and like Taylor’s songs are too expensive for TV shows to have.

lover-prompts-3

The Veronica Speedwell series. Veronica Speedwell is amazing and such a strong female character. Plus, is it weird that I can picture Veronica singing this song?

lover-prompts-4

I recently read The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and there is some good anxiety representation. Some of it was a bit cliché (in my opinion), but most of it is very strong and solid (from my experiences).

lover-prompts-5

Whenever I think of books with the boy next door trope, I think of My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. Maybe because it has the word NEXT DOOR in the title idk though.

lover-prompts-6

First of all, this might be my favorite song off the album. Second, any book can have political undertones if you look hard enough (just kidding). But, I just finished Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore and the suffragette movement is an important part of the story. Check out my review here.

lover-prompts-7

Okay, I am going to say Robin Ellacot & Cormoran Strike from the Cormoran Strike series bc GOSH THESE TWO MAKE ME FEEL THINGS. Okay they are not officially together, but like you can’t have tension like that and NOT end up together. Right? Rereading this series was the best thing to happen to my 2019 reading.

lover-prompts-8

HA. Guess with my technology issues I deleted my answer to this so that is fun for me because I don’t remember what I put for this one. I don’t tend to seek out sad or emotional books because I don’t like to be sad. I do cry way easier while reading so that is fun. I’m just going to say Queen of Air & Darkness even though I have used that for a prompt similar to this one.

lover-prompts-9

The Princess Diaries series is one that has stuck with me for years! It is the reason I read YA and the reason I love contemporary romance so much. Despite being nothing like the books, the films are also iconic.

lover-prompts-10

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary! It even takes place in London. See my review for this one here.

lover-prompts-11

I feel like this is going to be a spoiler so…?

lover-prompts-12

I don’t read a lot of classics, especially since I don’t have to read them for school. But, Pride & Prejudice will always have a special place in my heart. I love this story (and many of the retellings) so much.

lover-prompts-13

Tell Me How You Really Feel by Aminah Mae Safi, this got some hype when it first came out, but now I don’t see anyone talking about it and that’s a crying shame. Here is my review here. I swear I am not intentionally picking books I have reviews for lol.

lover-prompts-14

Does Victor Vale from Vicious count?

lover-prompts-15

This is an impossible question to answer, but probably The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. This book blew me away the first time I read it.

lover-prompts-16

Okay how about quartet? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Raven Boys group.

lover-prompts-17

Throwing it back to my high school days, but 13 Little Blue Envelopes and the sequel by Maureen Johnson. I really enjoyed these books.

Thanks for reading! What are some of your favorite tracks off of Lover?

xoxo, Tree
