WEEKLY TAG: WWW Wednesday

January has been quite the busy month for me and I thought I would just do a quick update on my recent reading! I’m currently 4 books ahead of schedule on my 2020 Goodreads reading goal and I’m hoping to build enough of a buffer to help cushion me later on in case I flail in the endzone.

This tag hosted on Taking on a World of Words, and it’s super easy to do. Just answer the three W’s.

The Three W’s are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

This year I’m trying to better regulate the books I read by restricting rereads to audiobook format only. That way I can focus more of my physical reading time on ARCs and backlist books I’m behind on.  Anyways, I’ve always been a big Meg Cabot reader and over the last coupe of years I’ve started collecting used copies of her books, basically so I can do a big Meg Cabot reread. I thought All-American Girl would be the perfect way to kick it off, and when I saw my library had the audiobook, it was mean to be. (Also I needed some reliable presidential AU fiction because I just forced myself all the way through American Royals, and it was not enjoyable.)

Just Finished:

I had to binge this story from beginning-to-end one last time before I give them a break! I actually have a weird history with this series because I read each book twice before moving on to the next. It was mostly because when I was waiting for my library hold on The Wicked King, I missed Jude and Cardan and ended up (re)checking out The Cruel Prince to sustain myself. The same thing basically happened with The Wicked King while I was waiting (in agony) for The Queen of Nothing to be published. (Now the first sentence should make more sense.)

I binged the first two books of this series back in June 2019, and it seemed like forever until  book 3 would  come out, but here we are! I went to the release-day event for The Hand on the Wall on January 21st, and had quite the time. I hadn’t met Maureen Johnson before, but I enjoyed her dry humor and the discussion of true crime she had with Billy Jensen. (Check out his new book here!) Honestly, I can’t wait to dig into the last piece of this puzzle and see what Stevie Rae and her gang has in store for us!

Happy reading!
