Our lovely friend Kat @ Rustic Pages tagged us in this tag. Thanks Kat!
1. How many books do you currently own?
Bree: Uhh, way too many. My collection has slowly grown with every temporary college living arrangement, and the last count I attempted was 2 years and 1 move ago. So, I have no clue.
Tree: Last I counted it was around 400, but that was the beginning of 2019 and I have unhauled many books and accumulated some too…
2. How many books are you currently reading?
Bree: I’m currently in the middle of three books; a high fantasy, a YA contemporary, and a NA contemporary/mystery.
Tree: When I started filling in answers it was three, but now it’s FOUR oops.
3. Choose a couple books you read but didn’t enjoy?
Bree: Recently it’s been The Stepford Wives, and maybe, How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse? Neither ended up being my cup of tea, and I discovered that space opera and horror are definitely not my thing.
Tree: Anna and the Swallow Man (I wrote about this book for my class and about how I did not like it and my professor was like “I felt the same” so it’s valid), Throw Like a Girl (started v. good, but got cheesy and dumb, also the girl was too good for the love interest), & Fight or Flight (yeah just not a fan).
4. A cover buy?
Bree: I’ve been really good about only buying books that I’ve already read (and loved). But the last ARC that I read that urged me to buy my own copy was Tweet Cute by Emma Lord (review here).
Tree: Well I’m pretty good about not buying solely for the cover…but it does make it easier for me to actually buy it. Okay I bought the movie tie in for Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda bc of Nick Robinson lol.
5. A book you own but hate the cover of?
Bree: I’m really not a fan of the cover of All-American Girl by Meg Cabot. It’s just very early-2000’s (and pink) and so much more could have been done with it (especially by today’s cover standards).
Tree: The Just One bind up. It has Just One Day, Just One Year, and the novella, Just One Night. I needed the novella in print form and someone was unhauling the bind up so I got it cheap, but I am not a fan of the cover.
6. A book you haven’t read in years?
Bree: Weirdly enough, I don’t think I’ve picked up a Sarah Dessen novel in a couple of years. I don’t know if I aged out of them, or I just stopped reading them once the covers got redesigned and stopped matching my old faves.
Tree: The Agency by Y.S. Lee is a book (and series) that I loved in high school and want to revisit.
7. A book you will always recommend?
Bree: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston!!
Tree: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
8. All time favorite book series?
Bree: I would normally say the Percy Jackson series, but I think I might actually have a new favorite series? If you read this blog semi-regularly, you probably already know that I absolutely devoured The Folk of the Air series (more than a couple times) in the last 6 months. So, I guess that qualifies it as my new favorite series?
Tree: Currently, probably the An Ember in an Ashes series.
9. Where do you read?
Bree: I have a few good reading spots around my house that are always super comfy, but if the weather is nice I prefer to stretch out in the sun with a good book.
Tree: Mostly in my bed.
10. What are the last two books you gave a 5 star rating? And why?
Bree: A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson, which I have been raving about to everyone I know, and The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, which I listened to on audiobook with my boyfriend. (Technically this was my third read of THG. Oops.)
Tree: Autoboyography & Dear, Martin. Both rereads.
Thanks for reading!

Oh my gosh, it’s not even the worse version of the cover. You should look up the audiobook cover. It’s quite patriotic.
