In 2020 I decided to keep track of where I acquired books from. Partly because I was curious and partly because I’m trying to be more mindful about book buying. I did a haul post in January because I got a lot of books in January (yay for birthdays), but February & March were a bit slower. But, honestly still acquired more book that I would’ve liked…I have no space in my house folks!!
Anyways. This is organized based on where I got the books from!!
Library Book Sale:
I bought three books, but only kept two! The third was for a book swap that got cancelled so now I have an extra copy… I have already read The Worst Best Man and can’t wait to read Ghosted.
Giveaways:
I was surprisingly lucky and won two giveaways on Bookstagram. I won Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane & The Testaments by Margaret Atwood. I can’t wait to read these, but will have to read The Handmaid’s Tale first… Also, my photo of these books turned out blurry so no photo (cries).
Little Free Library:
I actually unhauled probably six books at Little Free Libraries during these two months at just as many LFLs and yet only picked up one book! This is partially due to the LFLs having books I already owned or are not interested in and partially due to me being responsible (for once!!!). Bree wasn’t a fan of Normal People, but I have heard a lot of good things, so I’m interested to see how I feel.
Friend:
My IRL book club met up for the first time and we swapped some books! I ended up with three, one of which I already unhauled. I am excited to read The Gifted School and I really enjoyed The Bookish Life of Nina Hill.
Book Sparks:
I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of break your glass slippers by Book Sparks! Here is my review. I was so excited to be able to add this title to my amanda lovelace collection.
Book of the Month:
I chose The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Daré as my February pick for Book of the Month! I am so excited to read this one, but I think it is going to wreck me so I’m waiting for a better time to pick it up. I skipped for the month of March & April in hopes that I catch up a bit. As always, if you are interested in signing up for BOTM use my link and you can get your first book for $5!
Publishers:
I have been very lucky with ARCs recently! Thank you so much to the publishers for these books! Save Yourself by Cameron Esposito (finished copy), Bookish and the Beast by Ashley Poston, Don’t Ask Me Where I’m From by Jennifer De Leon, Grown Ups by Emma Jane Unsworth, & Tombstone by Tom Clavin. I already read Bookish and the Beast and it was SO GOOD and cute! I’ll have a full review up closer to publication date.
Purchased:
I bought A Touch of Stardust as a “Blind Date with a Book” from this shop on Bookstagram! All proceeds go to local charities. They are on hiatus right now, but check them out and give them a follow for when they come back! I also bought It Happened One Autumn for a historical romance book club I joined on Bookstagram.
TOTAL: 16
Thanks for reading!
