What Are You Currently Reading?
Bree: I’m almost done with my reread of City of Bones and I’m hoping to finish off Something to Talk About as soon as I get some physical-reading time in!
Tree: I’m reading Save Yourself by Cameron Esposito.
What’s Your Favourite Can’t Leave The House Activity?
Bree: I bought myself a Switch Lite as a reward for selling 50 masks on my Etsy page, so I’ve been playing a lot of Animal Crossing and enjoying all the childhood nostalgia it’s creating.
Tree: I’ve been painting a lot which has been nice.
A Book I’ve Been Meaning To Read Forever
Bree: I would have said Queen of Air and Darkness, but I managed to knock that bad boy of my list last month, so I guess that leaves The Bane Chronicles. According to Goodreads, it’s been on my TBR for *cough* just over 7 years… [To be fair, I think I marked it when it was still “the untitled Magnus Bane book.”]
Tree: So many. Some that I actually own include, After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, & Exit West by Mohsin Hamid.
An Intimidating Book On Your TBR
Bree: I have been avoiding the Modern Faerie Tales bind up by Holly Black ever since I went on a binge of some of her books earlier this year. It’s just so chunky and daunting at 800 pages.
Tree: I have been wanting to read The Host by Stephenie Meyer since high school and even picked it up at a used book sale years ago and I still have not read it. It’s just so long! and not my typical genre!
Top 3 Priority Books On Your TBR
Bree: I’m going to list the next three physical books I’m hoping to read, since I run through audiobooks too fast for any planning. They are Late to the Party, Good Girl, Bad Blood, and Time of Our Lives.
Tree: I’m going to try to say books that I have not mentioned over and over because I feel like I’m always saying I’m going to read certain books and then I don’t…So, Untamed by Glennon Doyle, The Female of the Species, & The Lying Game by Ruth Ware.
Recommend A Short Book
Bree: I will always fiercely recommend amanda lovelace’s poetry collection, the witch doesn’t burn in this one.
Tree: Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds! It’s 300 ish pages, but it’s told in prose and reads very quick!
Recommend A Long Book
Bree: Since I have to pick a different book than Tree, I’ll go with Strange the Dreamer. My copy’s only about 500 pages, but the emotional heft of the story shatters you. So, like the same amount of impact, right??
Tree: I have not read a long book in a long time…Honestly, Queen of Air and Darkness might be the last time I read a book that I would consider long.
Something You’d Love To Do While Stuck At Home
Bree: I’d really like to refine my baking repertoire a bit and build up my collection of tried & true recipes.
Tree: I’d love to deep clean my room and reorganize my bookshelves, but I’ve been too lazy to start either of those projects.
What Do You Plan On Reading Next?
Bree: Most likely it will be The Tower of Swallows, since Q and I are in the middle of a joint read through of The Witcher series. [Only 3 more to go!]
Tree: I am doing a Kindle Unlimited trial so I’ve been binging those books! Give me your recs!!
