This week’s prompt is books published in 2020! Meaning this post covers both books that have already been released and those that are still upcoming (and we’ve had our eyes on all of them.)
These are mostly books that have already been published in 2020 (since we just posted our ARC August TBRs), but they are also all books I already have copies of (and I’m trying to find time to read).
Time of Our Lives by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka: As a long time fan of Emily & Austin, I’m quite surprised that I haven’t picked up their latest book yet. Well, I picked up a copy, I just haven’t quite gotten around to reading it…
Chosen by Kiersten White: I absolutely binged Slayer when it came out last year, and made it to a book tour stop for Chosen all the way back in January. But then my copy ended up on my TBR stack and I got distracted trying to catch up on ARCs. Still very excited to dive back into the Buffy-verse.
Lobizona by Romina Garber: I love Romina’s Zodiac series, and I can’t wait to see what creative world she’s brought to life this time!
Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson: I absolutely binged the US version of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (review here) in March and then I went and preordered the UK edition of the sequel that dropped 2 months later. I just haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. (Sensing a theme?)
How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black: I’ve already preordered my copy. Y’all know I’m obsessed. Honestly I’m way too excited to get a Cardan POV and also AFTER-QON CONTENT?!?!?
I am honestly terrible at keeping up with new releases. I tend to get them at my library and with libraries being closed…have not been picking them up much. I have some 2020 ARCs on my TBR. Check out our ARC August post for the ARCs on my immediate TBR. So here are some books that already came out in 2020 that I want to read!
You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson: This one has been everywhere and the cover just makes me happy every time I see it. I need to get to this one asap.
One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London: I attended a virtual author event with Kate and hearing her talk about her book made me want to pick it up even more. Plus, I miss the Bachelor/Bachelorette. My library hold needs to hurry up!
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: I’ve seen mixed reviews of this one and I honestly am not sure if I like gothic/horror, but I still want to try this one out!
Loveless by Alice Oseman: Honestly know nothing about this one except that it discusses asexuality! I haven’t read anything by Oseman and that needs to change!
The Black Famingo by Dean Atta: I’ve only heard phenomenal things about this one!!
What’s on your TBR? Did you add any of these?
