BOOK TAG: The Book Buying Habits Tag

I was scrolling Twitter for Book Tags (lol) and came across this tag on The Incessant Bookworm’s page, check out their post here. It looks like it originated from BookTuber Megan Oliver back in 2013.

But, since I am low key on a book buying ban I thought it would be fun to torture myself and talk about book buying!!

Where do you buy your books from?

I typically try to shop at used bookstores because I try to get the bang for my buck, otherwise I will purchase from Barnes & Noble. I am doing my best to purchase from Independent Bookstores or Bookshop.org whenever I am able to.

Do you ever pre-orders book and if so do you do this in store or online?

I typically only preorder for my favorite authors, but I will do this online.

On average, how many books do you buy a month?

Well right now, hopefully very few. But, typically maybe three (ish)? But, they probably are mostly used books.

Do you use your local library?

YES!

If so- how my books can you/do you borrow at a time?

Well I currently have ten books on hold at two different libraries. But, have no physical books checked out, five ebooks and one audiobook at one library, and another two ebooks at another library.

What is your opinion on library books?

… I love them

How do you feel about charity shop/second hand books?

Seeing that I get most of my books secondhand, I love them. I can spend less and get more books. Plus, if I find a book that is really cheap, but I am not sure I will love it, it is less of a financial risk.

Do you keep your read and TBR pile together/on the same book shelf or not?

I try to keep my TBR & my read books separate. My TBR is on my book cart, piled in a massive stack, part in a drawer, and partly in smaller stacks all over the place. Although I am running out of space for my read books.

Do you plan to read all of the books that you own?

I mean that is the plan, but I doubt it will happen. I try to not buy books that I do not think I will read within a year, but I sometimes end up with books I am not super interested in because they were cheap.

What do you do with books that you own that you feel you will never read/felt you did not enjoy?

Unhaul! I sometimes try to sell them online, or I will donate them or put them in a Little Free Library.

Verbatim Books – San Diego, California

Have you ever donated books?

Yes; see previous questions.

Have you ever been on a book buying ban?

Yes, I am right now! But, I typically try to be mindful of the books I purchase anyways.

Do you feel that you buy too many books?

No! I just don’t have enough space! Jk, yes I have too many.

I tag anyone who wants to participate!

Also, if you want to tag me in some tags, I would appreciate it! I’m always looking for new ones to do.

xoxo, Tree
