I was wondering what I should post today, and I realized I hadn’t done a WWW Wednesday in a while. So here’s an update on what I’ve been reading.
This tag hosted on Taking on a World of Words, and it’s super easy to do. Just answer the three W’s.
The Three W’s are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading:
As a fan of Ender’s Game, I was excited to find out that Orson Scott Card had written a new book, outside of the Enderverse. I was immediately intrigued by the premise of Lost and Found. It follows Ezekiel Blast, a fourteen year old boy with the micropower of finding lost things. Which is all good until everyone in town assumes that he must have been the one to steal them in the first place. With Card’s distinctive writing style (and the chosen narrator), I often forget that Ezekiel is fourteen and not twenty-four. I’m currently 46% into the audiobook, and it’s just now getting good. Hopefully it keeps up until the end of the book.
Just Finished:
I was not expecting Reverie to be so good, or so fricken wild. It starts off a bit confusing, since the MC has lost a lot of his memories, but it builds fast from there. Especially once the characters start jumping into widely diverse dreamscapes to save all the lives of the people pulled into them. The story and plot were complex enough that I honestly had no idea who was going to end up being the villain, or even who was going to end up being the heroes. I also enjoyed all the LGBQTIA+ aspects included in the story.
Up Next:
I CANNOT wait to read this book. My library loan is (finally) almost ready, so I am getting quite amped. Ruth Ware is my only auto-read author for Mystery/Thriller books, and I’ve slowly been working my way through her back catalogue. (Slowly because I don’t want to run out of them lol.) One by One follows a company retreat gone wrong. Eight coworkers get trapped in a isolated mountainside chalet after an avalanche snows them in. As the corporate food chain begins to collapse, survival takes the lead.
Happy reading! What are you binging?
xoxo, Bree
I’ve heard really good things about Reverie, glad you enjoyed it!
