I feel like I’ve picked up quite a range of things since the year started, but haven’t really talked about any of them much. Therefore a WWW Wednesday is the perfect way to give an update on my recent readings.
This tag hosted on Taking on a World of Words, and it’s super easy to do. Just answer the three W’s.
The Three W’s are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m currently binging my way through Emma Lord’s new book, You Have a Match. It’s a good read, but I don’t think I’m enjoying it as much as I loved her first book, Tweet Cute (review here). It could be due to the plot revolving more around two sisters finding each other through a send-away DNA testing site, than the underlying romantic drama. I’m also working my way through the last book in The Magicians series, The Magician’s Land by Lev Grossman. I’m about 70% in and things have gotten ridiculously good. So much so, that I’ve started putting off listening to the audiobook until I can give all its happenings my full attention.
So continues my reread of The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. Q and I have now finished Cress (my favorite of the quartet) and I’m excited to continue with Winter because it is the book I remember the least of. I’m ready for more Iko & Captain team ups, and some cute Cinder & Kai moments. I also just finished reading Grimoire Noir by Vera Greentea, which is a beautifully drawn, if a bit confusing, graphic novel about witches stuck in a magical town.
Technically, I’ve already started reading You Should See Me In a Crown by Leah Johnson, but I’m only like 1 chapter in and I’m juggling 4 other current reads, so we’re going to just label this as my “up next.” Since it will be my main focus once I finish off my two end-game reads. I also have Eva Evergreen, Semi-Magical Witch by Julie Abe out from my library as a fun witchy read for later in the month.
Happy reading! What are you binging?
