Never Have I Ever…read a later book in a series before reading the first book
Tree: I have! used to do this as a youth when I only read library books and sometimes it’s hard to tell which book comes next. I read The Princess Diaries series out of order. I also picked up the second Shadow & Bone book started it and was so confused that I knew it was a second book after a few pages.
Bree: I feel like I did this as a kid occasionally? It was never a good time. It was also before I was a self-aware bookworm & adjusted my reading ways.
Never Have I Ever…burned a book
Tree: I have not!
Bree: I actually haven’t, which I was surprised to realize. Not that I go around destroying books or anything, but like I was a destructive youth, so it’s not so far out of the question.
Never Have I Ever…read a book I knew I would hate
Tree: I have not! I’ve gone into some books with very (very) low expectations, but if I think I’ll hate a book I won’t read it.
Bree: For school, I have many a time. But in my personal reading, I have not. I mean, why would I waste my time on something that doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest?
Never Have I Ever…wrote a fanfiction about my favorite books
Tree: I have not! But, I’ve read a TON of fanfic. Although I typically read more fic about tv shows and movies rather than books.
Bree: I am not really a writer-type, so I haven’t spent any of my time writing fanfiction, of books or other media.
Never Have I Ever…loved a book when I was young, yet hated it when I got older
Tree: I’m sure this is true, I just have not actually experienced it. There have been some books that I know I probably won’t like if I read them again, so I don’t pick them up.
Bree: I feel like this has to have happened, but I can’t recall a specific example. All of my childhood favorite have aged to some degree, but have mostly held up in my recent rereads.
Never Have I Ever…dressed up as one of my favorite literary characters
Tree: LOL I have multiple times. See this post for photographic evidence and this post for behind the scenes.
Bree: Haha I maybe have dressed up as Annabeth Chase a time or two for Halloween. Or you know, when the blog demands content. (see above links)
Never Have I Ever…hated a book by an author I love
Tree: I have…This literally just happened to me *crying emoji*
Bree: Ugh. I definitely have. I hate it. It’s just so disappointing.
Never Have I Ever…gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more
Tree: I have! On my birthday I bought ten books…in one weekend…at various used bookstores. I did not mean to buy this much.
Bree: Yes, all the time. I have no self-control. It’s especially bad if I have a gift card or it’s a used bookstore with a good selection.
Never Have I Ever…read the ending of a book before reading the beginning
Tree: I sort of have! When I was in middle school I sometimes would read the ending while I was already reading the book, but never before I started the book.
Bree: Nope, I have not. I do occasionally skip a few pages ahead to relieve myself of anxiety over stressful/angsty plot points though.
Never Have I Ever…read a book without the dust cover
Tree: I have! I sometimes don’t want to risk damaging the dust covers. But, sometimes then I damage the cover. Can’t win.
Bree: Always. Honestly, how else to you keep the delicate paper dust jacket from ripping during use??
Never Have I Ever…skim read nearly half a book
Tree: I have! Especially if I am not feeling it, but I need to finish the book either because it is an ARC or a book club read.
Bree: I really don’t skim read anymore. I always end up getting confused by missing information I skimmed past and then I have to go back and read the section fully anyways.
We did not tag anyone, but feel free to do the tag if you’re interested!
Thanks for reading!
