WEEKLY TAG: WWW Wednesday

I’ve been super busy in life recently (work and whatnot), so I haven’t really been writing many reviews. I have still been reading books though, so I thought that the WWW Wednesday tag would be a good middle ground. Anyway, here’s what I’ve been reading!

Currently Reading:

After finishing my last read I was in the mood for a distinct fantasy vibe and what’s more reliable than a re-read? So, I decided to re-listen to one of my favorites, The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, for the 5th time. As predicted, I am thoroughly enjoying being back in the middle of all things Elfhame. It is fortuitous that I picked this up though. Since I most likely would have been sent into a Holly Black spiral, after the announcement of her adult debut, Book of Night, a few days ago.

Just Finished:

I just finished reading Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare, and I enjoyed it much more than the book 1 in the The Last Hours trilogy. I can say that firmly, since I re-read Chain of Gold just before picking this one up, and it was not lacking exactly, but slow. The events of the series definitely pick up in book 2, so I was much more entertained and the characters got better. Also, yay for more Anna Lightwood! I can now say I’m actually quite excited to see where this story goes. But also because Ty & Kit’s series, The Wicked Powers, is up next and this will most likely set something up for that.

Up Next:

Ever since Tree read The Ex Talk by Rachel Solomon as an ARC (see her review here) this book has been on my radar. And now that my library loan has finally come through I’m quite excited to binge it as well! I actually tried to start it after finishing Chain of Iron, but I just wasn’t in the right mindset. (Thank you mood reader brain.) Anyways, once I’m done with my TCP reread, I’m hoping to dive into this enemies-to-lovers(ish) romance!
