The Top Ten Tuesday tag is hosted by Jana, @ThatArtsyReader, and you can find the upcoming prompts here. Today’s prompt is “Books I Read In One Sitting (or would have if I had the time).”
BREE:
My absolute favorite reading thing to do is to binge a book (or a series) so completely that I get sucked into that world and basically forget my own exists. I don’t often get the chance to do that anymore with life and whatnot, but all of the books below gave that same feeling even if I didn’t get binge them all in one sitting.
Heartstopper (volumes 1-3) by Alice Oseman
I actually did binge each of these volumes in one sitting and the sittings were basically back-to-back sooo they all count for this lol. Honestly I was so happy to score book 3 from my library in the middle on my book 2 read that, I think I stayed up til 3 finishing them both. I also reread book 3 the following day, so I guess you could say I didn’t want to leave their world. Charlie & Nick are just too soft and adorable and it hurts my heart. I can’t wait for the next two volumes to be published!!
Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert
THIS WAS A BINGE!! It took me a couple drives to & from work to finish it, but it was like a dessert that was gone too fast. Eve & Jacob are just so snarky and caring. I also really loved the whole “tiny town B&B” vibe this book had going on, and I can’t wait to see more of it in the spin-off series Talia Hibbert announced!!
Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall
This book is too good and the humor is honestly the best thing about it. The clever writing had me dying of laugher, while simultaneously unable to step away from what was happening on the page. I also really loved Luc & Oliver’s relationship, as messy and chaotic as it was.
A Bad Day for Sunshine by Darynda Jones
I think this might be the only title on this list I actually managed to binge in one sitting. Wooh! I’m definitely going to need to reread it before the sequel, A Good Day for Chardonnay, releases on July 27th, 2021 though. Not that I mind one bit. I can’t wait to catch up with Sunshine Vicram.
The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
How many times is too many times to use the word binge? But this actually was also one, so…oh well. I haven’t read this book in over two year but I still remember how pulled into the story I was. Emse & Khai are just so heartfelt and warm, and their chemistry is unreal. Honestly I should reread this before The Heart Principle releases August 31st.
TREE:
I LOVE reading books in one sittings. I love when a book sucks me in so much that I don’t want to put it down and when I actually have time to finish it. I tend to read before bed so many of these are also books I ruined my sleep schedule for.
Luck of the Draw by Kate Clayborn
I really loved this one. I thought the first book in the series was good, as all Kate Clayborn books are, but book two was something special. I loved the camp setting and Aiden and Zoe so much. We also have fake dating (well a fake engagement) which is one of my favorite tropes. It also does not hurt that this book is less than three hundred pages so I just sort of kept reading until I finished it.
With You Forever by Chloe Liese
This is the 4th book in the Bergman Brother’s series and these books just keep getting better and better. This one does not release until September (thank you NetGalley!), but I just did not want to leave the world of Axel and Rooney.
Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes
Not going to lie I was having a rough night and was trying to distract myself and thus read this entire book before sleeping. It was the perfect read to take my mind off of whatever my issue was (I don’t even remember what it was lol) and I am due for a reread since I remember very little about the book.
The Viscount Who Loved Me (Bridgerton #2) by Julia Quinn (review)
Technically almost all the Bridgerton books could be on this list because I flew thorough all of them. But, book two is my fave and I actually reread it already and my reread was one sitting. My first read was basically one sitting, but I started it at 12am on January 1st so I needed to sleep before finishing it.
Bookish & the Beast (Once Upon a Con #3) by Ashley Poston (review)
This series is so much fun and book three FLEW by. When I got an ARC copy, I could not put it down. This book is pretty light and overall is just a fun time. I also believe it is less than 300 pages which also helped.
What books have you been flying through?
xoxo, Bree & Tree
So many good ones! I can’t believe I forgot to include Boyfriend Material on my list!
