Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

It’s clearly the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I reference it all the time and I would definitely love to find out I am a demi-god of any kind. This series really fostered my love of Greek mythology, and honestly, all mythology.

ELFHAME!! Cardan & Jude’s Elfhame!! Ahh What a site that would be to behold, or like even read. Anyways, the magical ways of Elfhame have always enraptured me. Would love to visit.

Maybe not an absolute bummer, but it was definitely a lot more depressing and serious than I ‘d been expecting. Not that I was expecting it to be anything like Heartstopper, but it is more than a little bleak.

I don’t know if it was productive thinking, but this book literally had my brain working in overdrive to try to assemble all the puzzle pieces before the end. My brain has never had that much trouble deciphering a book before, and I wasn’t even successful at figuring it out!

It’s actually set in the year after WW II, and it follows an ex-intelligence officer after she’s left London for the idyllic countryside of British Colombia. She’s looking for looking for somewhere peaceful to rest after the war, only to be pulled into a murder investigation as soon as she arrives in town.

Present Day: A Book Everybody Should Read In Present Day According to You

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo

As a long-time fan of Elizabeth Acevedo, this book kicks you right in the feel and its dual POV will have your heart all twisted up. I absolutely cannot recommend Acevedo’s work enough. I especially love her works written in prose, like like this one (mini review).
