I did a book tag last week, so I thought I would do a reading update this week *cough* and an update on my progress with my ARC August TBR.
Ha ha ha. It has not been great. I’ve been working quite a lot this entire month, so it hasn’t left much time for me to sit down with an ARC and burn through it. I’ve mostly been reading a lot of audiobooks and graphic novels this month, but I did manage to finish one ARC off my TBR so far. And I’m about to have a mini vacation with lots of downtime for reading, so I’m hoping to knock another one or two titles off my list!!
This tag hosted on Taking on a World of Words, and it’s super easy to do. Just answer the three W’s.
The Three W’s are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading:
I reread book one in this series, A Bad Day for Sunshine by Darynda Jones, in preparation for my read of book two, A Good Day for Chardonnay. Honestly, since I love all the characters this series it was no hardship at all. Also, I had to make sure I remembered everything, because my original read of book one was in one less than 6 hour sitting. So anyways, I am enjoying book two just as much as I enjoyed book one, even if they both had/have me STRESSED AS HELL. Like I just never know what to expect next. It’s fine. I like being traumatized. But also clever one-liners.
Just Finished:
I finally finished my read of One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston!! It sure took me long enough. Jeez. What I discovered in picking this back up was that I STOPPED AT THE PART WHERE IT GOT INTERSTING. Okay, not interesting because it was interesting from the beginning, but the part where it picked up speed then. It was honestly a lot of yearning/angst/pining before that point and I guess I got bored? Also, I absolutely loved the entire cast of characters in this from August’s roommates, to the Billy’s crew, to the fierce Brooklyn Drag Queens.
Up Next:
I just checked out the audiobook for Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner from my library and I’m so excited to reread it!! Especially since I read it as an ARC last year!! (review here) And it was one of my favorite reads of 2020!! I am especially excited to see how Emma and Jo (and Avery) translate to audiobook format!! Can’t wait for Meryl Wilsner next book!
Happy reading! What have you been binging?
xoxo, Bree
