I saw this tag on Paper Procrastinators blog! You can check out their post here. It was created by Allonsythornraxx and you can see the original post here.
I’m counting new releases as anything released in 2021 which at this point I guess is sort of a long time, but it is fine!
Also, I do really read a lot of new releases and need to get better at reading backlist books, but for the sake of this tag, I’m grateful I read a lot of new books.
a new release you’ve already read
Ones I’ve Reviewed Recently (got to get that self promo): If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy (review), The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood (review), The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun (review), With You Forever by Chloe Liese (review), Love at First by Kate Clayborn (review) & We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This by Rachel Lynn Solomon (review).
I’ve Read by Not Reviewed on The Blog: Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall, Cultish by Amanda Montell, A Good Day for Chardonnay by Darynda Jones, Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon, & Dial A For Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto.
a new release that’s already come out but you haven’t read yet
The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang. I’ve heard this one is emotional so I’m waiting until I’m in a good headspace. I do have it on hold at my library so well see when it comes in.
a new release you just found out about
I just saw Ramón and Julieta on someone’s Goodreads feed and it sounds so good! It releases in 2022 and I am excited. Also, like this cover?! Stunning.
a new release you’re excited about from one of your favourite authors
I’m hyped for Weather Girl (out January 11, 2022) and See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon (out May 3, 2022). I already preordered Weather Girl from Third Place Books and you can preorder a signed copy here. (I don’t get anything from sharing this link, but RLS fans, check this out!)
a new release you’re excited about from a new-to-you author
I’ve heard really good things about The Lady Gets Lucky by Joanna Shupe and since I read Shupe for the first time this year I am counting her as a new to me author! I haven’t read book one in this series, I’ve seen mixed reviews, so we’ll see if we have time to read it before I get to this one.
a new release you have no interest in
Basically any thriller that released recently, but I don’t have any specific book in mind since I can’t speak for future Tree and who knows what she will pick up.
a new release you want to pick up soon
Once these come through on my elibrary then I will get to them. But, it currently is a waiting game. But, I really want to read The Shaadi Set-Up by Lillie Vale, Well Matched by Jen DeLuca, The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, & A Lot Like Adiós by Alexis Daria.
a new release that hasn’t come out yet but you can’t wait to read!
I already am anticipating Ali Hazelwood’s sophomore novel, Love on the Brain even though there is barely any information about it and it does not release until the end of 2022, but whatever.
a new release with an amazing cover
The cover game has been GREAT lately, but my favorite cover of 2021 releases (that I’ve read this year) is probably Seven Days in June by Tia Williams because WOW it’s like a work of art.
your favorite new release you’ve read so far this year
This is so hard to answer since I’ve read so many good 2021 releases this year! I’ve listed a bunch of them already in this post (The Charm Offensive & The Love Hypothesis for sure), but also Love at First by Kate Clayborn, Hana Khan Carries On (review) by Uzma Jalaluddin, & She Drives Me Crazy by Kelly Quindlen.
Thanks for reading! What are some 2021 releases that I just have to read before the year is over? Or early 2022?
xoxo, Tree
I’m so glad you decided to do this tag! I feel like I’ve read a ton of new releases this year, but even so there are so many that I still want to read such as A Lot Like Adios, The Fastest Way to Fall, and One Last Stop!
