BLOGMAS DAY TWO: End of the Year Book Tag

Welcome to Day Two of Blogmas! We found this is post on Kristen Kraves Books, but we’re not sure who first created it. We thought it would be a fun, and apt, book tag to do as part of our Blogmas lineup.

Check out Day One of Blogmas Here: End of the Year TBRs

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Bree: Yes, of course! At the time this is going up, I have 5 reads in progress. But only three of those are like “actively” being read. I’d like to clear all of them before the end of the year, but I’m going to realistic and aim for just the active 3. (WWW Wednesday Reading Update here)

Tree: I just started Vision in White by Nora Roberts and I’m only 50 pages in. Got to get reading.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Bree: No, but I tend to try ending the year on a high note reads-wise. Usually by rereading a favorite book or series, like The Folk of the Air, or in this year’s case, reading a book highly revered by peers (Tree), The Love Hypothesis (Tree’s review here).

Tree: I don’t read seasonally, but I read A Match Made for Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving and The Mistletoe Motive by Chloe Liese (both novellas) which was fun.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

Bree: Who has time to track new releases?? I’m literally living loan, to library loan right now. *cries in literature* I’m so behind on new releases.

Tree: Nope! But, to be fair I’ve become terrible at tracking new releases. But, I’m so excited for 2022 books!

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Bree: We just wrote our end of year TBRs, but in addition to those I mentioned, I would also like to finally finish Alicia Cook’s most recent poetry collection, Sorry I Haven’t Texted You Back. I’ve realized I read way more poetry when I’m sad, and this year I’ve honestly been way too busy to contemplate fate and be moodyTM.

Tree: We posted our TBR yesterday, but I’m hoping to get to Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren because I have it out from the library now. (Sorry for not linking the Goodreads page, it wasn’t working while I worked on this).

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

Bree: IDK about the top spot, but I definitely enjoyed The Love Hypothesis enough to add it to my favorites of 2021 list for sure. Can’t wait to see what Ali Hazelwood writes next!

Tree: Honestly, who knows. I low key am in a slump so probably not, but I’ll never rule out the possibility!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2022?

Bree: I have literally not made any plans past “finish any current reads and delay any library loans that try to come in.” And that is the energy I will be meeting 2022 with. (Also, excited to find out which book my mood reader brain will choose as my first read of the year!!)

Tree: I just want to read more of the books I already own. Which I say every year and I fail at every year!!

Thanks for reading & we’ll “see” you tomorrow for day three of Blogmas!

xoxo, Bree & Tree
