Book Tag: The Bookaholics Anonymous Book Tag

I found this tag over on ReadRantRock&Roll, and it looked like such a fun quick tag. I couldn’t help but do it myself! I also feel like I haven’t done a tag in such a long time? Anyways, lets talk about my bad book buying habits lol…

What do you like about buying books?

Honestly, it’s always a fun time going to a bookstore, especially used bookstores. Is it weird to say it’s almost like treasure hunt? I don’t know. I always get psyched when I find a book I really wanted, in perfect condition, for a really nice price.

How often do you buy books?

I only really buy physical books now when I absolutely loved a book and need to own my own copy. Or like if I go to any used bookstores with Tree, because that’s a dangerous gamble every time. I also have a monthly subscription through libro.fm for audiobooks, which I guess is my only real bookish indulgence.

Bookstore or online book shopping – which do you prefer?

Ahh there are pros and cons to both sides. I would much prefer to browse in-store, but online is much more convenient when you know exactly which books you want to buy. Like what if you go and they don’t have it?? But online, you don’t get the bookstore *ambiance*. What a toss up.

Do you have a favourite bookshop?

My current favorites are Verbatim Books in San Diego (it’s my favorite color & always has such a good selection??) and The Ripped Bodice in LA (A ROMANCE BOOKSTORE Y’ALL, also it’s decorated hella cute!)

Do you pre-order books?

Ah ha ha, if I can remember when they’re coming out. I’ve actually preordered more than a few titles lately…but that could just because B&N had a preorder sale and I am easily susceptible to their sales marketing tactics.

Do you have a monthly book buying limit?

I feel like if you have to impose a limit on yourself, you might be buying too many? But also, if you’re reading them as fast as you buy them, then holy crap you are powerful. But I’ve also been trying to step away from excessive book buying the last few years, and instead utilizing my libraries way more.

How big is your wishlist?

Lol as endless as every other book nerd’s out there I bet. The list I actually send to people has about 20 titles on it currently.

Thanks for reading!

xoxo, Bree

  1. Thanks for linking back to me! Your bookstores sound amazing. I’m trying to slow down on book buying as well to get caught up. It is a challenge! 😉

    1. A hopeless challenge at times it seems! I’ve found myself leaving a lot of books I’ve collected (that I’ve realized I’m never going to end up making time for) in local Little Free Libraries. 🙂
