BOOK HAUL: Tree’s 2022 Spring Book Haul

I don’t love doing haul posts because they are a lot of work hehe, but I do like sharing about the books I have bought and especially the ones that publishers have sent me. Also, unlike prior posts, I didn’t take my own photos, I just put in the cover images.

This year I am tracking all my unread books that I own and it’s A LOT. Which really should motivate me to buy fewer books, but that’s not happening.

Also apparently I only do book hauls in Spring because I posted this haul last Spring so tradition?

Dukes Do it Better by Bethany Bennett (released May 24th)

How to Fake it in Hollywood by Ava Wilder (releases June 14th) – note this one is a lot more serious than the cover makes it seem! I would suggest looking at TWs, especially if you have triggers related to addition/caring for a partner with addition. An excellent debut though, just not my favorite. See my thoughts here.

Always Be My Duchess by Amalie Howard (releases July 12th) – This cover is so cute! I’ve never read anything by this author and I’m excited for this one.

I got a few more ARCs, but I just wanted to mention this one.

See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon (review) – This was the one ARC I wanted from Yallwest and I was so excited we were able to nab copies! Out now!

From Barnes & Noble

Book Lovers by Emily Henry (review) – I preordered this one before I even read it which is rarely for me. Loved it.

I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston – I preordered the BN exclusive edition because look at that gorgeous lilac color!! Also, in part because of the BN 50% off preorders sale from January.

From Book Club

The Rajes series by Sonali Dev – I won this series in my book club’s raffle! I have already read the first book so I gave it to someone else in my book club.

From Independent Bookstores

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez – This was a book club pick and I’m going to give Abby Jimenez another chance. I purchased this one from Arvida Book Co in Tustin. Love this shop so much.

Book of Night by Holly Black – Bree & I went to see Holly Black talk about this book so we had to buy the book for admission. It was a great event and I hope I enjoy the book. I barely read fantasy anymore. I bought this one from Skylight Books in Los Angeles who also hosted the event.

Count Your Lucky Stars by Alexandria Bellefluer – I found a used copy of this one at Mostly Books in Tucson which if you’re in Tucson is 100% worth stopping at! It’s a small store, but they have such a great selection of new and used books. There is a whole romance room?! Loved it and will be back.

The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean (review) – This might be my favorite Sarah MacLean novel and one of the few I did not own. BUT then I found it at a local used bookstore and it has a step back!!

From Little Free Libraries

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi – I listened to this one via audiobook and loved it. It’s powerful and hard to listen to at times, but such a great memoir. I lent it to my mom right after I finished it and it will go back into a different little free library once she is done.

In the Event of Love by Courtney Kae – I actually had already read (and loved) this one when I won an ARC, but I’m so excited to have a physical copy because I loved this one! Check out this queer, cozy, and fun book with all the Hallmark movie vibes. It releases August 30th!

eBooks I’ve Bought

Just a Heartbeat Away by Cara Bastone – I’ve been wanting to read this for a lot second, but my library has yet to buy the ebook. So when it was on sale & I had a credit, I finally just bought it myself!
