Hello! I am back again with another Top Ten Tuesday tag! Is that enough T’s for everyone? Anyways, today’s prompt is “Books I Wish Had An Epilogue.” Since my memory is terrible, and I can’t reliably remember which books have actual epilogues, I have expanded this to mean more of “I wanted more of the characters than where the book(s) left off.” As always, I have not ranked these in any particularly order.
The Top Ten Tuesday tag is hosted by Jana, @ThatArtsyReader, and you can find the upcoming prompts here.
1. So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens
I loved each and every character in this big, messy, exceptionally queer ensemble cast! This book flew by with all the character development, but I still would have signed up for even more if I could have. I want to know how the kingdom ruling is going for them all!!
2. Loveless by Alice Oseman
The cast of this book absolutely destroyed me! I just want to keep them all safe and make sure they stay happy forever. I would love to see Alice give away hints about their futures.
3. Heartstopper: Become Human by Alice Oseman
Okay, I might just always want more Nick & Charlie, but this AU was top tier and I would have loved to see what the story looked like past the end point of the panels.
4. Under One Roof by Ali Hazelwood
This was only a novella BUT I WANTED A WHOLE BOOK!! If that’s not an applicable ask for this prompt, idk what is.
5. The Unidentified by Rae Mariz
I read this book a bajillion years ago, but I remember being absolutely desperate for more, either as more books in a series or as another book set in this world. I thought about it for years.
6. Betwixt by Tara Bray Smith
Honestly, I think this book traumatized me when I read in back in…middle school? Because I was left with so many questions, actually all of the questions, but I never got a single answer??? And the bizarre, fantastical visuals just never left my brain. Literally to this day this cover makes me see flashes of the story.
7. The Check, Please! series by Ngozi Ukazu
I can just never get enough Jack & Bitty content. You think I’m kidding, but I only read things Ngozi had written/drew for a solid two weeks of March, and IT STILL WASN’T ENOUGH. I recently reread the books and picked up a Samwell T-shirt. So, yes. More Jack & Bitty! Read Tree’s review here.
8. Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
I loved all of the characters in this and would probably stab someone for more contents of The Super Six out on the town. Sorry, not sorry. Check out my full review here!
9. Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner
This one actually had a epilogue. I remember it only because it was TOO SHORT and I needed more Emma & Jo! *ugly cries* Check out my gushing, gibberish review here.
10. The Folk of the Air series by Holly Black
I will literally never say no to more Carden & Jude content. I am feral for it. Every other week I think about picking up the books up for my 6th series read.
Thanks for reading! I blame the entire contents of this post on my Mood Reader Brain. What books have you been putting off reading?
