The Bookish FOMO is real!! So when we found this book tag on Rab’s Bookish Planet, we absolutely had to do it!
1. A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
Bree: Uhhh I feel like Tree is always recommending books for me to read. Since we have such similar tastes, I always try to read her recs above others. BUT I like, just haven’t managed to make it around to reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo?? I’m sorry, okay?
Tree: If I’m being honest I feel like I’ve done this tag before?? Anyways. Bree has been telling me to read The Female of the Species for years and she bought me a copy so I have no excuse. But, everyone tells me it will hurt me so I’ve been putting it off.
2. A book that’s been on your TBR forever and you still haven’t read the hell out of it
Bree: AHH I NEED TO FINALLY READ MUSE OF NIGHTMARES!! I absolutely loved Strange the Dreamer, but I was so emotionally traumatized by the ending of book one that I have yet to pick up the second/final book… Laini Taylor why do you torture me so?? *whales incoherently* (Strange the Dreamer review)
Tree: So many books. I really want to read One Last Stop soon. Plus, I’ve heard from a few people lately that they really love it?
3. A book in a series you started but haven’t finished
Bree: I read the first book in the Market of Monsters series, Not Even Bones, but it was slightly too graphic for me to immediately continue on with the rest of the books. I still want to finish them in the future, but who know when that might actually be.
Tree: It’s my goal to finish Sarah MacLean’s backlist before her newest releases in August and I only have the second and third books in the Love by Numbers series, which I am lowkey bummed about. I love her books so much.
4. A classic you have always liked the sound of but never really started
Bree: Um, not gonna lie, classics are exactly the opposite of my vibe? I really couldn’t name one off the top of my head that I want to read.
Tree: I really want to read Beloved by Toni Morrison but I’m intimidated.
5. A popular book that it seems everyone but you have read
Bree: *See above Evelyn Hugo answer* But I guess I could say I’m most likely the last person to have not read a single Colleen Hoover book. Despite the number of her titles that are in fact on my Goodreads TBR…
Tree: idk maybe Crescent City by Sarah J Maas?
6. A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet
Bree: I kind of make a dedicated effort to read the original media or watch the adaption when I enjoy the counterpoint. So, the adaptation I’ve enjoyed the most, recently is the Heartstopper TV show!! Hear me gush about it in our April Favorites of the Month, or check out my review for the first 3 volumes of the comics!
Tree: Mean Girls and I do not plan on reading the book it was based on because it’s a self help book or something from 2002? Not sure how Tina Fey was inspired by that, but major props to her.
7. A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet
Bree: I love Emily Henry & all of her previous romances, but I’ve yet to pick up Book Lovers! It’s only a matter of time until my library loan comes through though…
Tree: I haven’t read Set On You by Amy Lea and I need my library hold to HURRY UP.
Thanks for reading!
xoxo, Bree & Tree
