This made us feel old!
The Top Ten Tuesday tag is hosted by Jana, @ThatArtsyReader, and you can find the upcoming prompts here. Today’s prompt is “Books from 10 Years Ago We Love.” We took it as “books we were reading 10 years ago that we loved,” rather than “books that came out 10 years ago that we loved.” And as always, we have not ranked these in any particularly order!
I would be remiss if I didn’t at least mention the Percy Jackson series, but I’ve definitely been reading those books for longer than 10 years… 15 years, maybe? *nervous laughter* Am I old now?? Anyways, if you would like some probably very dated book recommendations, read on!
The A List series by Zoey Dean
House of Night series by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
The Morganville Vampires series by the late Rachel Caine
Underland Chronicles series by Suzanne Collins (yes, the same of HG fame)
Faeries of Dreamdark series by Laini Taylor
Fablehaven by Brandon Sanderson
Double Identity by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Poseur series by Rachel Maude
Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong
Wings series by Aprilynne Pike
& a special mention all E. Lockhart & Sarah Dessen books because I couldn’t pick just a single book by either author to put on this list!!
It’s so funny to me looking at the cover trends from the early 2000’s to 2012. What a time!! Anyways. Some iconic books on this list!! Two of these I reread last year if you want to guess which ones!
The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter
Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot – I remember going to Borders to buy Forever Princess the day it released. A core memory!!
The Agency series by Y.S. Lee
Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
The Secret Life of Prince Charming by Deb Caletti
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen (but tbh almost all of her books, this was just the first of hers I read)
North of Beautiful by Justina Chen
My Life Next Door by Huntly Fitzpatrick
Thanks for reading!
xoxo, Bree & Tree

I have so much nostalgia for many of these! I remember devouring the House of Night series!
