Per usual, we are rolling up to Blogtober with a week of posts for ring out the end of October! Happy Spooky Season to all! Check out previous years’ posts here.
We saw this tag on over on BeckyBookstore’s blog and it sounded perfect for our Blogtober line-up. So of course we had to do it!
Are there any books you plan on reading over the Autumn Season?
Bree: There’s a ton of books I would love to read this season. I actually wrote a whole post for my October TBR, which I’m sure will bleed into my November reading. Spooky season is here y’all!! But sitting at the top of my TBR currently would be Edie In Between by Laura Sibson.
Tree: I don’t read seasonally, but I need to read Seasons of Love by Helena Greer for one of the book clubs I’m in.
September Brings Back to School Memories: What book did you most enjoy studying? And what were your favorite and least favorite school subjects?
Bree: I really did not enjoy any assigned in reading in school, especially since I did so much on my own already. But I weirdly remember these two book a decade later: Tangerine by Edward Bloor & Olive’s Ocean by Kevin Henkes.
Tree: I hated every book I was assigned in high school, except for the ones that we did as “free reading” or whatever it was called when I had to pick a book off of a list once a quarter in sophomore year Honors Language Art. I picked Pride & Prejudice and my life has not been the same since.
October Means Halloween: Do you enjoy scary books and films? If so, what are some of your favorites?
Bree: No 😡 The closest I get to scary is the wheelhouse of Ruth Ware’s suspense/thrillers. My favorite of all her books is In a Dark, Dark Wood.
Tree: Nope! I did enjoy Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo and The Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series by Holly Jackson.
With November, It’s Time For Bonfire Night & Firework Displays: What’s the most exciting book you’ve read that really kept you gripped?
Bree: The Female of the Species has a hold on me to this day, even though I read it way back in 2019. I keep meaning to read more of Mindy McGinnis’ books.
Tree: I was very invested in Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas. Some historicals are slow, but this one was not!
What book is your favorite cosy comfort read?
Bree: It has to be the Heartstopper graphic novel series by Alice Oseman for sure!! On average, I’ve read each volume 4 times, since July 2021. Check out my review of volumes 1-3 for extra gushing.
Tree: Every November I reread The Scorpio Races via audio and it’s a grand time.
Curled up with a good book, what is your hot drink of choice?
Bree: Honestly, probably are really good cup of hot chocolate. Preferably Coffee Bean’s brand.
Tree: Coffee. Always.
Any plans you’re looking forward to over the next few months?
Bree: THE THIRD SUNSHINE VICRAM BOOK!! A Hard Day for a Hangover by Darynda Jones is out in December and I literally cannot wait for it to hear more Sheriff Vicram snark and sass.
Tree: I’ve very excited for Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail by Ashely Herring Blake! This is the “sequel” to Delilah Green Doesn’t Care and I loved that one.
Thanks for reading!
xoxo, Bree & Tree
