I found this tag over on Kira Jennette’s Blog, and thought it would be perfect for our Blogmas lineup! It was originally created by Browsing for Books by Cery, but the blog is no loner active.
Hot Chocolate – A Book That’s Sweet Through and Through
As I said in my review, When You Get the Chance, feels like Emma took her personality and slipped it in between every line of this book. And if you follow her on any social media, this would make perfect sense, but if you don’t, let me surmise it like this: She recently made it on to the front page of the Wall Street Journal for talking about…jam. Yes, the stuff you spread on toast.
Peppermint Mocha – A Book With a Lot of Strong Emotions
The Blue Period manga series by Tsubasa Yamaguchi is about a high school student who gets in to art for the first time, and basically flings himself headfirst into it with the intentions of getting into an art college. As the books go on you see Yatora go through so many different emotions in his search to “become good at art.”
Apple Cider – A Book Full of Character With Questionable Morals
I originally read this as the webcomic but, The Croaking by Megan Grey, is FULL of questionable people, alliances, and storylines!! I was so turned around by the time I got to the end of season two. I am honestly so anxious for her to start posting season three, because WHAT IS GOING ON????
Eggnog – A Book That’s Mostly Fun, With a Hint of Danger
Okay, this is actually the perfect descriptor for the Sunshine Vicram series by Darynda Jones! Sunshine is the super snarky, newly-minted Sheriff of De Sol, New Mexico and she is here to clean up the mess the previous sheriff left, and deliver some serious sass to the residents. Oh there is also an estranged love interest. What else could you ask for in a book?
Gingerbread Latte – A Book With a Lot of Action
Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski (as well as the rest of the series) is probably the last book I read that anyone would consider ‘action-y.’ The Witcher series is filled with Geralt doing so many bleak, monster-hunter tasks, Yennifer fighting in legit mage battles, and Ciri being the ultimate sign of the End Times Are Nigh.
Happy Reading!
xoxo, Bree
