All, Miscellaneous

I didn’t have a post planned for this weekend so I figured I would just share what I am currently reading. Because it’s a lot. I normally “just” read three books at a time. I usually have one physical, one audiobook, and one ebook at a time. I also don’t love to read more than one book in a specific genre. But my brain has been all over the place and some mediocre books have me breaking all my rules.

So here’s what I am currently reading ordered by date started.

Forever Your Rogue by Erin Langson

This is an indie historical romance that I’ve seen glowing reviews for. I’m about 20% in and am truly loving it, but I want to read it when I have enough time to read more than a chapter at a time. It’s a romance between a widow with two small children who asks a former friend (who is a notorious rake) to pretend to court her so she can maintain custody of her children. It’s on Kindle Unlimited and it’s great (especially for a debut omg).

Plus One  by Kelsey Rodkey

I won an ARC of this book (releases June 27th) from the author and since it releases next month wanted to read it asap!! This follows a teenage matchmaker who only has a week to find a date for herself. I’m 127 pages in and it’s a lot of fun! It’s the perfect summery and chaotic YA book (my fave type). It’s a little bonkers at times, but I’m have so much fun with this. It’s is my first book by Kelsey and I can’t wait to also read her other two books (which I also won as part of the giveaway).

Dracula by Bram Stoker

If you’ve been around for a second you’re probably like “huh this book seems different”. And well if you told me I would be reading Dracula this year I may have LOL’d. I don’t read classics and I don’t read gothic novels, BUT my bookstagram friend Juliana mentioned Dracula Daily, which sends out the story of Dracula as the story is happening. The book is epistolary (which I did not know) so each day is like a diary entry or a letter. It’s been a week so if you want to participate, it’s not too late!

You Bet Your Heart by Danielle Parker

I was lucky enough to pick up an ARC of this one at Yallwest and heard good things so I picked it up. This is a YA contemporary rivals to lovers which is so cute so far! I don’t love revisiting parts of high school where there is so much focus on grades. I want to be like “girl chill”, but Danielle Parker’s writing is just so easy to consume and I’m having such a fun time with it. This one releases May 30th!

The Good Girl’s Guide to Rakes  (Last Chance Scoundrels #1) by Eva Leigh

I want to read the third book in this series and since I own the second, I figured I would read them in order. I checked this one out from my library and was instantly hooked. I’ve only read Eva Leigh’s novellas (despite owning a few of her books) so I’m glad I’m enjoying it so much. I can’t want to keep reading this one. I’ll be writing a series review for this series since I am feeling like I will fly through them.

The World Record Book of Racist Stories by Amber Ruffin & Lacey Lamar

This is a sequel to this sister duo’s first book which I loved. I saw this one was only a five hour audiobook and my library had it available so before I knew what I was doing I had it checked out! I’m only an hour and a half in, but I really love how the two of them narrate this together. Amber is a comedian and her ability to deliver a story in a funny way (even if it is terrible things happening) is truly unmatched. Highly recommend these books.

What are you currently reading?

xoxo, Tree
